Conductor of the World

This is what happens when I'm feeling musical and spiritual at the same time.

Last night at Cru we watched a video full of music, violins, flutes, oboes, violas, cellos, piano, guitars, french horns, the works. The point was that everyone is playing a song in life, the question is whether or not they're in tune. Whether they do the right things or not.

I took it a step further in my brain. God is the Conductor of the song, the song of life. He's waving his arms, telling the players (mankind) when to be quiet, when to speak up, when to slow down or speed up, and when to stop. Just like in music class, individual players have the ability to pay attention or just not bother. Paying attention to the conductor takes effort, it's not easy to multitask in so many ways at once. Ears and eyes have to be open at all times and nothing can distract the player. God connects to this in every way. You (the player) can either pay attention to him or just walk away. If you choose to pay attention you have to be on it. You have to adjust every few steps you take and make sure you look to him and are doing what he wants. Without him standing at the conductor's stand, the world is in turmoil. No one knows what to play or how to play it. It's crazy and doesn't make any sense.

That's all I have about that.

About other things - Thanksgiving is in a few days and I can't wait to get home and see everyone. After that, I only have two and a half weeks left of class before Christmas Break. This makes me unbelievably happy.

- I have been hanging out with Amy and Jill a lot more lately... I decided that it's pointless to use code names for college friends that no one knows anyways.... Amy took me with her to see the meteor shower the other night and it was magnificent!! I saw three meteors shooting across the sky and it reminded me of the beauty this world contains.

- Tonight, I'm going to Starbucks with Ames and then we're studying for our last History test. I'm really going to miss our professor. He's fantastic!!

- Voldemort was that "best friend" from last post. I don't care at all anymore. Not that I have in the last month or so, but I just had to announce that for it to be done.
